DC man identified as victim in triple shooting in Mount Rainier

PRINCE GEROGE’S COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) has released the name of the man who was shot and killed while sitting in a car outside a liquor store in Mount Rainier on Sept. 23.

The victim was identified as 22-year-old Freiver Yanez-Salas, of Washington, D.C.

As of Friday, homicide detectives are still working to identify a suspect and a motive for the shooting.

Police said on Monday around 7:30 p.m., Mount Rainier police officers were called to the 3400 block of Rhode Island Avenue for a shooting. There, they found Yanez-Salas inside the vehicle with a gunshot wound.

He died at the scene.

Police said two additional victims, a man and a woman, were also shot and taken to the hospital with critical injuries.
