Multiple weather records fall in Colorado, including one set in 1892

Yesterday was a toasty September day in Colorado, and multiple heat records fell around the state as a result.

Not only did Denver break a 132-year-old ‘daily high’ temperature record that was set on September 26, 1892 and tied in 2010, numerous other spots saw new ‘daily record highs’ getting recorded.

Denver officially broke the record high of 90 degrees (set in 1892 and tied in 2010) for September 26 before 2 p.m., as temperatures hit 91 degrees at Denver International Airport. Temps kept climbing in the Mile High City, though, eventually pushing this new record to 93 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Elsewhere in the same region, Boulder hit 92 (breaking a daily high record of 90 degrees set in 2021), Limon hit 93 (breaking a daily high record of 91 degrees set in 2021), Wheat Ridge hit 91 (breaking a daily high record of 89 degrees set in 2001), Fraser hit 78 (breaking a daily high record of 77 degrees set in 2014), and Gould hit 78 (breaking a daily high record of 77 degrees set in 2010).
