1 Killed in 2-Vehicle Traffic Collision Involving School Bus in Lancaster

LANCASTER, Calif., Sept. 27 (KNN) — A traffic collision involving a school bus and SUV left one person dead at the scene in Lancaster early Friday morning.

Emergency responders from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the 1700 block of West Columbia Way shortly after 7 a.m. for a reported traffic collision. Due to the involvement of the school bus, sheriff’s deputies requested assistance from the California Highway Patrol.

One person was confirmed deceased at the scene.

A 4-hour Sig Alert was issued to alert motorists of the significant traffic disruption.

The California Highway Patrol is leading the investigation into the cause of the collision, with assistance from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and Los Angeles County Fire Department.
