City collects nearly 150K pounds of trash at events in 2024

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The city of Bakersfield has collected nearly 150 thousand pounds of trash at bulky waste collection events so far this year.

At the most recent bulky waste event on Stockdale Highway Sept. 14, city officials collected more than 21,500 pounds of trash.

In total, 102 mattresses, 1,300 pounds of recycling, 502 e-waste items, 35 tires and 7,520 pounds of metal have been dropped off so far this year.
