Grand Rapids man dies at hospital; death ruled a homicide

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A Grand Rapids man died at the hospital following an apparent assault, police say.

Around 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, officers with the Grand Rapids Police Department were sent to a hospital after a man arrived at a local hospital with life-threatening injuries that were consistent with an assault.

GRPD said that the man later died at the hospital. His name has not been released.

The Kent County Medical Examiner ruled his death a homicide following an autopsy.

It’s unclear where the apparent assault happened or when.
