A Different World tour has not included Virginia HBCUS
The NBC sitcom A Different World cast members embarked on a tour of 10 HBCUS (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) this past spring. So far, Spellman College, Clark Atlanta University, Howard University, Alabama State University, Tuskegee University, and Morehouse College are listed.
A Different World was set 45 minutes from Richmond, Virginia, at the fictitious Hillman College. Thus far, there has been no indication of a tour at any of the five HBCUS in the Commonwealth.
The tour’s purpose is to raise scholarship money, and the ADW cast who participated are Jasmine Guy (Whitley Gilbert-Wayne), Dawnn Lewis (Jaleesa (Vincent Taylor), Glen Turman (Colonel Bradford Taylor), Cree Summer (Freddie Brooks), Charnelle Brown (Kimberly Reese) and Darryl Bell (Ron Johnson).
