Window-rattling music festival expected to Draw Thousands to California city

This Saturday, 30,000 to 40,000 electronic music fans will gather at Pier 80 in San Francisco for the Portola Music Festival.

The two-day event offers an impressive lineup that blends various genres under the electronic music umbrella, featuring artists like Floating Points, Deltron 3030, and M.I.A.

Last year’s festival generated over 200 noise complaints from nearby Alameda residents due to its booming bass, prompting temporary concerns about future events. However, organizers blamed weather conditions for the volume spike. Despite the noise issues, Portola remains one of the city’s most unique music events, set against the industrial backdrop of the San Francisco Bay.
