2 men killed in Bonney Lake shootout identified. Deputies still searching for suspect

Two Pierce County men who were killed in a shootout between people in two trucks in Bonney Lake have been identified, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Adam Lindsay, 46 of Sumner, died from multiple gunshot wounds on Sept. 15 near Rhodes Lake Road East and Falling Water Boulevard East, the medical examiner’s office said in a news release .

John Beers-Ferguson, 36 of Bonney Lake, died from a gunshot wound to the torso. Both of their manners of deaths are listed as homicide, the release said .

The shootout started after people in a white pickup allegedly stole a trailer from the Prairie Ridge area around 6:50 a.m. that day. People in gold-colored truck pursued the white truck, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department in a news release.

The two vehicles crashed, and shots were fired at the intersection of Rhodes Lake Road East and Falling Water Boulevard East, the release said.

“We believe they exchanged gunfire possibly during the chase and at the final collision scene,” Pierce County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Darren Moss said in the initial news release.
