Springfield woman pleads guilty in ‘Operation Raising Arizona’ investigation

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A Springfield woman pleaded guilty to a nationwide controlled substance conspiracy after more than 16 pounds of meth and more than 700 grams of fentanyl pills were seized.

Man sentenced to prison in ‘Operation Raising Arizona’ investigation, mailing drugs to Massachusetts

According to the Department of Justice, in 2022 an investigation called ‘Operation Raising Arizona’ was being conducted involving the shipment of drugs through the mail from Arizona to Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Law enforcement seized seven packages containing over 900 grams of methamphetamine, thousands of counterfeit pills containing fentanyl, as well as suspected Dimethyltryptamine (DMT), a very strong psychedelic.

Springfield resident, 31-year-old Denise Guyette was arrested after police searched inside her home in February 2023 and found the following:

  • Approximately 6.5 kilograms of pure methamphetamine
  • Over 2,700 counterfeit fentanyl pills weighing over 300 grams
  • A digital scale
  • Multiple Rhode Island and Massachusetts driver’s licenses, Social Security cards, and credit cards in the names of other individuals
