Annie Ruth Foundation Celebrates Brick & Mortar Grand Opening

Established in 2012, the AnnieRuth Foundation is named after Ruth Kearney, the grandmother. of Founder, Dee Wilcox. The foundation recently unveiled their brick and mortar location on Interstate Center Dr adjacent to its church partner Abyssinian Missionary Baptist Church. The grand opening ribbon cutting celebration included guests from the City of Jacksonville mayor’s office, sponsors, supporters and program student interns proudly witnessing the doors open for business The Foundation’s purpose is to serve as a catalyst of positive change in underserved communities with focuses on education, health initiatives, and economic development. During the ceremony Mayor Donna Deegan presented Ms. Wilcox with the proclamation of opening highlighted by the attendance of Vystar Credit Union employees who had volunteered countless hours of painting, laying out furniture, and landscaping to organize the building for opening day.
