Packers fan’s 1972 green and gold Cadillac, a Lambeau Field tailgating fixture since 1990, destroyed by fire

One of the fixtures of the Lot 10 tailgating scene outside Lambeau Field for decades will be missing on Sunday, and the hole it leaves behind is big enough to park a big ol’ Cadillac in — Bart Boyden’s green and gold classic 1972 Cadillac Fleetwood, to be exact.

On Thursday, the Green Bay Packers -themed Caddy that never failed to draw a crowd on game days went to that big tailgate party in the sky. It was 52 years old with more than 270,000 miles on it and a trunk full of history. It leaves behind a legacy of making Packers fans smile and inspiring honks, thumbs up and too many photos to count. Among its greatest accomplishments, a road trip to New Orleans in 1997 to see the Packers win Super Bowl XXXI.

It was Boyden’s pride and joy since buying it in 1990 and transforming it into a Packers fan’s dream ride. The two of them made their first trip to Lambeau Field together on Sept. 9, 1990, for a game against the Los Angeles Rams and were inseparable on home game days in the 34 years since.
