UPDATE; Fayetteville Public Works Commission lifts boil water advisory

(This story was updated to add new information and a photo.) Fayetteville Public Works Commission announced Friday evening that the boil water advisory has been lifted. “Tests have confirmed water meets safe drinking water standards and can be used for any purpose,” the utility said in a news release Friday. “With the advisory being lifted, customers should flush their water lines for a few minutes before using it. This is especially important for locations that have not been occupied or had low water usage during the advisory period. PWC will continue to flush our lines to limit any cloudiness or discoloration. Any ice made during that time should be discarded. Businesses that serve or prepare food for human consumption should coordinate with their regulatory oversight agency to make sure all requirements are met.”
