Commanders Legend Praises Jayden Daniels

“When the Washington Commanders took quarterback Jayden Daniels No. 2 overall out of LSU, they knew they had something special. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner has not disappointed.

Washington is riding a two-game winning streak behind the exceptional play of their rookie quarterback. He has received praise from around the league, the media, and now from a Commanders legend.

Former Commanders quarterback, Doug Williams, a Super Bowl MVP in his own right, was impressed with Daniels’ poise and control of the game.

“The thing you really notice about him is that he’s in control the whole time,” Williams said. “He’s never in a hurry. For a rookie, that’s kind of unheard of. Again, you just don’t see rookies have that type of composure, especially after only three starts. Believe me, I know.”

Daniels completed 91 percent of his passes in the win over the Bengals on Monday Night. He stood in there with an unblocked blitzer coming off the right side to deliver a perfect strike to receiver Terry McLaurin in the back corner of the end zone for the winning touchdown.
