The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the cold case homicide of Calvin Richard Day, whose skeletal remains were discovered in a rural area near Mokelumne Hill. The remains were found on March 29, 2021, and were later identified as belonging to Day, who had been residing in Tracy, CA. According to a Facebook post from the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office, Day was last seen alive on October 3, 2020, in Stockton, CA, before his untimely demise was ruled a homicide.
