Woman pleads guilty to faking attack at Summit Metro Parks

NORTON, Ohio (WJW) — A woman accused of falsely reporting an attack at the Summit Metro Parks in July has pleaded guilty.

According to court records, Victoria Campbell was charged with making false alarms and inducing panic.

According to Barberton Municipal Court records, Campbell pleaded guilty on Thursday after faking the attack on Chippewa Trail.

A 180-day jail sentence was suspended and she has now been ordered to not commit any crimes in the next two years. She also is not allowed to return to the Summit Metro Parks.

On July 28, Campbell claimed that two men came up to her on the Chippewa Trail at Silver Creek Metro Park and “threw an unknown substance on her legs which caused severe burns.”

In a statement on Aug. 1, Summit Metro Parks said they learned the report was false .
