Louisiana firefighters deployed to South Carolina for Hurricane Helene Relief

SHREVEPORT, La. – The Louisiana Fire Service has been called to help with rescue and recovery efforts in South Carolina in the wake of Hurricane Helene. On Tuesday night, an Incident Support Team (IST) and Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) teams from Louisiana began their deployment to aid South Carolina’s emergency response. Some members will assist in the state’s Emergency Operations Center, while others will be on the front lines responding to rescue calls.
