SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office said a man has died from carbon monoxide poisoning.
The decedent was identified as Jimmy Lee Wall, 68, of Chesnee. He was pronounced dead on scene at 9:29 p.m., on Friday.
The coroner said that the cause of Wall’s death was a running generator inside the residence, and high levels of carbon monoxide was recorded. The toxicology test results will take approximately two weeks to return, according to the coroners.
The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office reminds the public that at no time should a generator, or any machinery that could cause carbon monoxide, should be inside your residence.
This was confirmed as a storm related death by the coroner’s office, resulting in six total deaths in Spartanburg County.
