New York Mets Fall 6-0 To Milwaukee Brewers

New York Mets Starting Pitcher Jose Quintana worked around trouble in the first three innings, but it caught up to him in the bottom of the fourth. After loading the bases due to a single and two walks, Third Baseman Joey Ortiz hit a two-run single for the first runs of the game. Quintana would have a decent night surrendering two earned runs over 4.1 innings of work and striking out a season-high nine batters.

The Brewers would maintain a 2-0 lead until the bottom of the eighth inning when the floodgates opened. Milwaukee scored four runs in the half inning to complete the 6-0 two-hit shutout. Will the New York Mets avoid the series by winning tomorrow’s contest?

New York’s pitching staff was able to muster 18 strikeouts but was let down by all parts of their team this evening.
