Minneapolis Man Sentenced to Over 11 Years for Methamphetamine Trafficking Operation

A man from Minneapolis, Jackie Gerald Smith, 55, has been handed down a sentence of 135 months in federal prison. Smith’s sentencing comes after he pled guilty to a charge of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. According to a press release from the United States Attorney’s Office, Smith, alongside his co-conspirator Damon Antone Young, 49, orchestrated a drug distribution operation extending throughout Minnesota from late October 2022 to mid-January 2023. United States Attorney Andrew M. Luger announced the sentencing, which also includes five years of supervised release following the prison term.
