IOWA CITY, Iowa – The inaugural African Festival of Arts and Culture is taking place in Iowa City on Saturday, Sept. 28, from noon to 9 p.m. at the Pedestrian Mall. Sunday Goshit, co-chair of the festival’s planning committee, said the free event will showcase the vibrant cultural heritage of African communities in Iowa through music, dance, food and art.
