Police need the public’s assistance finding two men who they say threatened a 48-year-old and stole a safe containing $30,000. Officials say on Friday, Sept. 20, two men disguised themselves as repairmen. They approached the apartment building on Courtlandt Avenue and E 150th St., allegedly telling resident they were dispatched to repair a leak. When a resident, a 48-year-old male, let them in the building, police say one of the suspects pulled a knife to the victims throat while the other bound his hands with duct tape. According to police, the robbers then took a crowbar and broke into the victim’s home. They say they stole a safe containing $30,000, as well as an iPad and a passport. Police say the victim suffered minor bruising and refused medical attention at the scene.
