Plane Crash at Wright Brothers National Memorial

A single-engine plane crashed in a wooded area at the First Flight Airport in North Carolina’s Wright Brothers National Memorial on Saturday afternoon, resulting in multiple fatalities.

Eyewitnesses reported that the plane was attempting to land when the crash occurred at 5 p.m. The impact sparked a fire, which was extinguished by local fire departments.

The airport has been closed indefinitely, and the National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident. The Federal Aviation Administration has also been notified.

The Wright Brothers National Memorial will remain closed on Sunday.
