Red Flag Warning in place for high fire danger Sunday — dry, windy, cooler conditions

As a dry cold front arrives overnight, fire danger will increase on Sunday as relative humidity drops and fast winds pick up. A Red Flag Warning is in place for central and eastern Washington, and North Idaho, from 11 a.m. to seven p.m. Sunday. Sustained wind speeds will range between 15-25mph, while wind gusts have the potential to reach 30-40mph. With no precipitation expected, this front will be very dry, increasing the chance of fires starting and spreading rapidly.
