North Carolina A&T clipped by South Carolina State

North Carolina A&T’s struggles continued in its matchup against South Carolina State, as the MEAC squad took control of the game for a 45-25. Despite some bright moments, A&T’s offensive inconsistencies and defensive lapses proved costly, leading to its defeat.

The win was the first for South Carolina State against North Carolina A&T since 2014. It snapped a four-game losing streak to its long-time HBCU rival and former MEAC foe.

The game began with promise for A&T, as it managed to keep the contest close through much of the first half, heading into halftime with the score tied. However, South Carolina State came out strong in the third quarter, taking control of the game with a decisive drive. Their running game, which had already been a challenge for A&T to contain, broke through with a series of powerful rushes, capping off the drive with a touchdown to break the deadlock. South Carolina State’s offensive line created large gaps, allowing their running backs to gain chunk yardage and wear down the Aggies’ defense.
