Springfield City Utilities reveals $280 million power supply projects

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — City Utilities of Springfield has announced they are moving forward with $280 million projects to help with additional electric generation and battery storage.

The projects consist of gas turbines and battery storage to be installed within the City Utility system. Once online, the gas turbines will be CU’s most efficient generators and will run on natural gas with a fuel oil backup for emergency events.
