BOISE — As electric as John Mateer has been for Washington State this season, the deep ball has been his Achilles’ heel and was so again in Washington State’s 45-24 loss to Boise State on Saturday. Mateer missed some critical deep throws early on and while he did rebound with a 36-yard touchdown strike to Kyle Williams, he knows the long ball is something he has to get better at.
