PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Investigators says oily stain rags caused a fire that damaged the garage of a home under construction in the 10300 block of Woodlawn in Portage. Portage fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from an attached garage. They extinguished the fire within ten minutes and contained the fire damage to the garage. The home did sustain smoke damage.
