Nassau police say a woman was fatally stabbed overnight outside of a restaurant in West Hempstead. Detectives say officers responded to a 911 call for a stabbing in the rear of La Candela Restaurant on Hempstead Turnpike just after midnight. The officers found the 52-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds and a 50-year-old man with a laceration on his hand, according to police. Both were taken to the hospital where the woman was later pronounced dead shotly before 4 a.m. The man was treated and released. It was not immediately clear what led to the stabbing or if there were any arrests made as of Sunday evening. ”
