Excessive Heat Conditions Continue for Southern Nevada, Las Vegas area

Las Vegas, NV – The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for desert valley locations in Southern Nevada, which will remain in effect through Thursday, October 3. Abnormally warm temperatures are expected to persist well into early October, with highs reaching near record levels.

Today, mid-level moisture under high pressure brought some scattered clouds, but most areas are enjoying sunny conditions. While temperatures are slightly cooler than Saturday, a weak low pressure system moving into Southern California is expected to increase winds this afternoon, allowing for better air mixing. As a result, many areas, especially in the southern half of the forecast region, may still experience near-record temperatures.

Looking ahead, the low pressure system will weaken, allowing high pressure to regain control over the region. Las Vegas has at least an 85% chance of hitting 100 degrees through Wednesday, dropping to around 75% on Thursday and 60% by Friday.
