Baker Mayfield Responds to Tom Brady’s ‘Daycare’ Comments

Baker Mayfield spoke to Tom Brady and clarified his much-talked-about comments on the seven-time Super Bowl champ’s tenure with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Mayfield helped the Bucs to a 33-16 victory against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, passing for 347 yards and accounting for three total touchdowns.

Mayfield’s comments on Brady stirred discussion during the game, with the former quarterback on the Fox broadcast.

“The building was a little bit different with Tom in there,” Mayfield said earlier this month on the Casa de Klub podcast . “Obviously, playing-wise, Tom is different. He had everybody dialed in, high-strung environment, so I think everybody was pretty stressed out. … They wanted me to come in, be myself, bring the joy back to football, for guys who weren’t having as much fun.”

Brady fired back on the telecast, stressing that his approach helped bring a Super Bowl title to Tampa Bay.

“I thought stressful was not having Super Bowl rings. So, there was a mindset of a champion that I took to work every day,” Brady said . “This wasn’t daycare. If I was going to have fun, I’d go to Disneyland with my kids.”
