Sea Lion Rescued on Highway 1 by California Highway Patrol and Wildlife Team

Santa Cruz, CA – A stranded sea lion caused a stir yesterday on Highway 1 near Highway 129, but thanks to the quick response from California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers, the local fire department, and an animal rescue team, the marine mammal was safely rescued.

The sea lion, found wandering on the busy highway, was quickly captured by the coordinated efforts of the rescue team and is now on its way to recovery. Authorities thanked the public for reporting the stranded animal and sharing photos of the incident.

“Teamwork makes the dream work,” CHP Santa Cruz said, celebrating the successful rescue.
