Get Ready for Pet-A-Palooza: A Celebration of Pets and Community at California Transit Station

Mark your calendars for Sunday, September 29th, as Gateway at Millbrae Station hosts its inaugural Pet-A-Palooza, a vibrant pet-centric event designed for animal lovers and their furry friends. From 11 AM to 2 PM, attendees can explore a variety of activities, including the chance to meet adoptable kitties from the Nike Animal Rescue Foundation (NARF) and browse over 20 vendors offering pet care essentials, gourmet treats, grooming services, and stylish accessories.

A highlight of the event will be a dog yoga class led by VENNU, the yoga and Pilates studio known for offering free classes to Gateway residents on Saturdays. Participants can enjoy a relaxing session while their pets join in on the fun.

One of the most anticipated features is the pet costume contest, where furry contestants will be judged on their funny, cute, scary, and creative outfits. The best overall costume will win a free night at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Millbrae.

According to Michael Van Every, President and Managing Partner of Republic Urban Properties, which developed Gateway, nearly half of the 500 residents currently living in the community are pet owners. “Pets are part of our family, and it’s a priority to make our developments pet-friendly,” he stated. “It’s all part of fostering a lively and dynamic community for our residents, which includes partnerships with businesses like Vennu and others.”
