Auburn Head Coach Hugh Freeze spoke to the media this week about what went wrong in this game.

“It’s just like I told the team, I couldn’t be more proud of their effort, their preparation and the way they worked. I thought they played harder and deserved to win the game. I’ve got to find a way to help them win these games and it’s not on them or their effort…When you have a chance to win the game like that and don’t, it just stings a little.”
Despite the outcome, your offense out gained Oklahoma by almost 200 yards today. What positives can you take away from the offense’s performance?
Hugh: That’s kind of been the story for us. We’ve out gained them but we are not winning football games so we’ve got to do something different to win these games. When we’re able to produce the yards, we’re not producing the points that should come with that to assist the defense that’s playing really, really hard right now.
Payton Thorne had 338 yards and 43 touchdowns. What do you say to him after a performance like that to keep his confidence high right now?
