What Delaware couple and their California wines are being honored at Versailles?

California-made wines from Delaware couple Gerret and Tatiana Copeland are being poured during a Sunday, Sept. 29, dinner at France’s Château de Versailles.

The Copelands, owners of Bouchaine Vineyards in Napa Valley, California, are scheduled to attend the annual gala dinner in the Gallery of Great Battles, the largest room at France’s illustrious Château de Versailles.

Bouchaine is the oldest continuously operating winery in Carneros, a region located on the southern tip of Napa Valley.

The wines served at Versailles include the 2022 Bouchaine Chardonnay, Estate Selection, and the 2021 Bouchaine Calera Clone Pinot Noir, Estate Selection.

The Copelands, who live in Wilmington, and Bouchaine President and winemaker Chris Kajani will be guests of Versailles for their sponsorship of bringing the orchestra of the Royal Opera of the Château de Versailles to perform during a future festival in Napa Valley.

The Copelands have been committed to the arts in Delaware for many years, supporting groups that include the Delaware Symphony Orchestra, the Delaware Art Museum and The Grand in Wilmington .
