Good morning everyone. Low pressure continues to meander in wave-form riding a stationary front draped across Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina. This will give us a replay today in terms of afternoon heavy shower & thunderstorm action, including the risk of some severe weather in spots.

Along the front and to the north of it, sunshine working the atmosphere, combined with leftover tropical energy and high humidity, well help spark scattered popcorn-like showers and rumbles across parts of North Carolina, Virginia, and Maryland.

We are already seeing some of this action take place east & southeast of Raleigh, North Carolina and heading towards Wilson. Look for individual thunderstorm cells and clusters to continue to pop up throughout the day. Not everyone will see severe weather, but for those who do, look for locally damaging winds, frequent lightning, hail, torrential rain, and the risk of an isolated tornado.
