The Cleveland Browns are 1-3. It has been a difficult season already, and not much has gone well. That’s why trade rumors for top players are starting to flood the airways.
Among the most logical is ESPN’s Adam Schefter suggesting a trade between the Browns and the Kansas City Chiefs for wide receiver Amari Cooper.
Amari Cooper is also on NFL Network’s Pete Schrager’s short list for the Chiefs.
Cooper is contracted with the Browns through the end of the season. He was the subject of trade rumors in the preseason when the Browns were in heavy but unsuccessful pursuit of 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk .
The Chiefs are 4-0 and are now without two of their top receivers, Hollywood Brown and Rashee Rice, for the season. The defending Super Bowl Champions will seek wide receivers to bring on board to fill these big losses.
Cooper has 148 yards receiving and 2 touchdowns through 4 games. He is operating well below his potential as is the entire Browns team. He is a reasonable trade target for a team like the Chiefs who want immediate help and could offer him a contract extension.
