2 men wounded in Chinatown slashing

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Two men were slashed on a Chinatown street early Monday morning, police said as they searched for three men who fled the scene of what may have been a robbery.

NYPD officers responding to a call about a stabbing shortly before 3:15 a.m. came across the victims at Canal and Mott streets.

A 24-year-old man was slashed across the stomach, while a 27-year-old man was slashed in the arm, police said.

Both were taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.

Three men who police believe were involved in the slashing fled the scene. No arrests had been reported as of Monday.

The NYPD wasn’t immediately able to confirm reports that the three men walked up and demanded beer money from the victims before slashing them when they refused to hand over cash.
