Watch: Large bug interrupts KARE 11 weather report, startling meteorologist

The KARE 11 weather report Monday morning showed a fast-moving, dark and ominous system arrive in Thief River before quickly traveling southeast, stretching over the Twin Cities and moving into Wisconsin.

The dark blob on the weather map wasn’t a severe storm or September blizzard, but rather a large insect trapped inside the camera lens.

The bug’s appearance during “KARE 11 Sunrise” on Monday startled meteorologist John Zeigler, who looked back at the monitor to see the insect suddenly covering his face.

“I’m so happy I didn’t swear,” Zeigler laughed.
