Greyhound riders experience delays due to Helene

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Riders coming to the Greyhound station on Highway 90 were bummed to learn that their rides had been rescheduled due to Helene’s impact in neighboring areas.

“There was no bus,” Constance Sopha, a disgruntled Greyhound rider, said.

No buses for Sopha and the other would-be riders. They learned that their buses would no longer be coming to pick them up.

“I purchased my ticket and was told to be here to get on my bus at 7:30 this morning,” Sopha said. “I got here last night. They said the bus station was closed. No busses were coming or going.”

Without a bus and without a way to get home, Sopha and the other riders agreed that wasn’t the biggest problem.

The riders waiting at the station say they weren’t allowed inside the lobby to wait for their new bus.

Some of those riders include Tadarrell Allen from Fort Walton Beach, Florida who said he’s been sitting outside of the station for more than 24 hours.

“Where are we going to go?” Allen questioned. “Well, where are we going to go? No answer.”
