Teen arrested after alleged threat against Salina homecoming dance

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A 16-year-old Salina Central High student was arrested after allegedly making a threat on Saturday.

The Salina Police Department says they became aware of the threat from social media, which revealed a student made comments about “shooting everyone at this dance.”

Police continued to look into the threat and determined the dance to be that of Salina Central’s homecoming.

The juvenile was located away from the school and was arrested on suspicion of criminal threat. The Salina Police Department said the teen was transported to the county jail and then taken to juvenile detention in Junction City.
