AMHERST, N.Y. – The Amherst Police Department is asking people to avoid Bailey Avenue on Monday night. In a message at 9:30 p.m., officers said that there is an increased police presence in the area of Main Street and Bailey Avenue. It went on to say that northbound and southbound traffic on Bailey Avenue is blocked between Main Street and Grover Cleveland Drive.
