Longshoremen strike at Port of Houston could eventually impact what we pay at grocery store, expert says

HOUSTON – The first longshoremen strike in decades could shut down the container terminals in Houston and along the East Coast. The strike is expected to begin at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday and will halt operations at ports from Brownsville to Boston. Dockworkers want wage increases, better health benefits and other things from ports and ocean carriers. Experts said they’re pretty confident the strike will happen and it’s unknown how long it will last.
