More closures on Division Street for stormwater improvements

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A section of West Division Street at North O’Hara Avenue will be closed for the rest of the week for stormwater drain upgrades.

The City of Springfield closed the road Monday morning and is expected to reopen it on Friday around 5 p.m.

The closure is for construction on a new stormwater box culvert underneath the roadway. The upgrades will help reduce stormwater flooding for businesses in the area and cut down on water covering Division.

The project is expected to cost around $720,000 and is funded by the 1/4-cent Capital Improvement Sales Tax and ARPA funds.

The City encourages drivers to follow the posted detour using West Bypass, Kearney Street and Golden Avenue.
