Traffic signals at 150 intersections are still without power. Treat them as all-way stops

As of 12:15 p.m. Monday, traffic lights at 97 of Chatham County’s intersections remained without power in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, said Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) Public Information Officer Betsy Nolen.

According to a press release from city of Savannah Press Secretary Josh Peacock, an estimated 80 roads remain impacted by downed trees and power lines. Some traffic signals have been restored, but 53 of the 280 Savannah-operated traffic signals are still without power―a figure that does not include County or GDOT-operated signals. The City is working with Georgia Power to restore signal cabinets at the remaining intersections, the press release added.

More than 56,711 power outages remain in the city of Savannah, affecting about 35% of the residents, according to a 1:46 p.m. communication from Joseph Shearouse, acting chief of Information and Public Affairs for Savannah.
