Triple-digit temperatures are returning to Modesto, bringing “ widespread moderate heat risk ” to the area, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather agency issued a heat advisory for Northern California — including Modesto — warning of “hot temperatures (of) 97 to 106 degrees expected with warm overnight lows in the 60s to mid 70s.”
The heat advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, to 11 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2.
Northern California can expect wind gusts of 20 to 30 mph and daytime humidity levels of 10% to 20% on Monday, Sept. 30, and Tuesday, the agency wrote in a post on X, formerly called Twitter.
Humidity levels will rise to 20% to 50% overnight throughout the region, the weather service said.
