WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — October is National Adopt a Dog Month, and according to the American Humane , it is an effort to shine a light on the three to four million animals that go into the shelter, hoping for a new home.
To help potential adopters find animal shelters near and far, DC News Now put together a list of shelters around D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
