Police searching for 2 suspects after man is stabbed multiple times near Downtown Detroit hotel

DETROIT (WWJ) — Police are investigating after a man was stabbed, early Tuesday morning, near a Downtown Detroit hotel.

Police said the stabbing happened at around 3:30 a.m. outside the Leland Hotel, located on Bagley Street in the area of Michigan Ave. and Cass.

Lonnie, a witness, told WWJ Newsradio 950’s Charlie Langton: “I saw a trail of blood coming from the Leland Hotel parking lot, and it goes across the street, and it stops right in front of the Town Apartments.”

WWJ Newsradio 950’s Charlie Langton reported the man was attacked and suffered multiple stab wounds before staggering over to a nearby bus station in search of help.

“But then, the victim was able to walk about a half-mile north on Cass when he staggered in front of the Bookies bar — lots of blood in front of that bar, Langton said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for his wounds, and was last reported to be in serious condition.

Police said they are searching for two male suspects in connection with the stabbing.
