Power outage numbers in West Virginia, Ohio & Kentucky following Helene

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) — More than 19,000 Appalachian Power customers in West Virginia are without power following rainfall and high winds from Helene on Friday.

That’s according to a press release from Appalachian Power.

Kentucky Power shows around 2,300 customers without power, while AEP Ohio is showing a little more than 1,000 customers without power.

Mon Power — which serves more than 500,000 customers in West Virginia — is only showing 266 customers without power. Buckeye Rural is reporting 1,630 outages in southeastern Ohio.
