Combined 172 years for men who gunned down victim during clothing sale meetup

INDIANAPOLIS — Three men will serve decades behind bars after being found guilty of gunning down an Illinois man who was in Indianapolis selling clothes on Offer Up.

Julius James Thomas, Carlos Bryant and Antonio Wynn were convicted of murdering Kerwin Pollard in March 2022 during a seven-day jury trial that took place last month. In addition to murder, the three men were also found guilty of robbery resulting in serious bodily injury and armed robbery.

According to previous stories , Pollard and an associate were in Indianapolis to sell clothing on Offer Up, an app where users can buy, sell and trade items. On March 6, 2022 , Pollard was gunned down after meeting up with Thomas, Bryant and Wynn who expressed interest in buying clothes from Pollard.

After shooting Pollard, the three men are accused of forcing Pollard’s associate out of the vehicle and stealing the car, the clothing and various other items.

“The defendants’ unprovoked attack on these innocent victims was a devastating tragedy for our community,” said Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears. “These sentences ensure that the defendants will now live with the consequences of their egregious actions.”
