San Jose PD investigating city’s 24th homicide

( KRON ) – The San Jose Police Department is investigating the city’s 24th homicide of the year.

Around midnight on Friday, San Jose police officers responded to the area of Townsend Avenue and Park Entrance Drive for a report of a shooting. Police said officers located a man suffering from “at least one gunshot wound.”

Paramedics responded to the scene. However, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

SJPD said the defendant’s identity will be withheld until the next of kin is notified.

According to San Jose PD, officers are investigating the motive and circumstances around the shooting.
